MALL Lab participated in the Allen AI Science Challenge. This challenge tested the intelligence of an AI program using a dataset of multiple choice question and answers from a standardized 8th grade science exam. We used a combination of IR techniques with inference to build our system (more details here). Our system stood 10th among 170 participants in the final round of the competition.
